Bruises and pale skin, breathe starts to fade

Caught unguarded, a new world begins to stir
Parents with anxious look, tired and weary
A few trips to the hospital, the shocking diagnosis
The beginning of a nightmare, that seems to be no end
Questions to ask doctors, it is not enough to know
Perhaps what one cares about is what the statistic shows
Will my baby be alright? Will he be cure?
Maybe yes, maybe no, you will never know
A course of chemical equation will do the trick
A series of countless drugs seem what the body needs
